Infertility
Infertility treatment in Oriental medicine focuses on getting the body to a point of being able to get pregnant. In particular, we target the blood flow to the internal organs. This improved blood flow brings a bounty of nutrition to the uterus. Along with this nutrition, improved hormone function creates an better environment for getting pregnant. Through acupuncture treatment, hormone levels increase throughout the body, the automatic nerve system becomes aligned, which makes the whole body better able to have a child.
For those receiving in-vitro fertility treatments
A research team from Germany and China found that pregnancy rates increased dramatically for in-vitro patients by relaxing the female body with acupuncture. The 160 women in the study were split into two groups. One group received acupuncture before and after in-vitro treatment; the other group did not receive acupuncture. The results of the study were that pregnancy rates in the group that received acupuncture rose to 42.5%, while the pregnancy rate for the group without acupuncture was just 26.3%. A dramatic difference between the two groups!
